4TH WEEK – ACTIVITY
"The Write Relationship Stuff"
 Materials:
Magazines, 11 x 17 paper, glue, scissors, construction paper, staples,
hole punch, gummed hole protectors, gold clasps, pens, pencils, markers,
crayons
Preparation: Take time to make a book chronicling a
relationship of your own – even yours with Jesus. The more information
you give, the more they will. Place the 11 x 17 paper at each child’s
place.
Procedures:
- Take time to re-discuss David & Jonathan’s friendship –
its strengths and weaknesses. Share your "Relationship
Book" with the children. Use these as springboards from which
they can write their own "Relationship Book".
- Illustrate their stories using the materials provided. Encourage
them to be creative and write from their own experiences to create a
book about their relationship with Jesus, rewrite the story of David
& Jonathan, or write about a friendship of their own.
- Punch holes and attach the pages together with the gold clasps.
Share them with the whole group. You may wish to keep them on
display creating your very own Odyssey library.
